A weekend retreat is a wonderful chance to re-examine our life priorities and learn where Jesus might be calling us.

We listen to spiritual reflections, share in the Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation, spend time reading, in prayer, or maybe just enjoy a must-needed rest. We get to know other men in our parish who are also looking for a deeper relationship with God.

The first thing we do is unplug—from our smartphones, the computer, television and our daily routines—while recharging our spiritual batteries.

The 2023 Men’s Retreat begins Friday evening, January 27 with dinner, and ends late Sunday morning, January 29 with Mass. It’s held at Saint Paul of the Cross Retreat Center on Pittsburgh’s South Side Slopes, and is run by the Passionists, who have been giving retreats there for more than a century.

This season’s theme is A Place for New Beginnings: I Will Put My Spirit Within You That You May Live.

All the guest rooms in the newer wing of the Retreat Center now have been renovated with private bathrooms/showers. There are also three double rooms to accommodate a retreatant and a caregiver/assistant.

The cost for a renovated room is $295, which includes two nights and five meals, or $250 for a room without a private bathroom in the original wing. Financial assistance is available for those in need and requests are confidential. If you’re able to give more, or if you are not able to attend this year, please prayerfully consider making a donation which is always appreciated.

A non-refundable deposit of $100 holds your room reservation. The Retreat Center staff asks that the balance be paid two weeks before the retreat weekend.  Rooms are assigned on first come, first served basis, so please make your reservation early.

Health safety is always a top priority. While face coverings are no longer required due to lower COVID risk, you are welcome to wear one if you choose.
